Another Epic

You don't know love without pain; this is truth. Without sacrifice, you will not gain.

You do not fool me, tainted soul, into thinking you are pure. I lie to myself, and my will is strong. But these lies are weak and they will crumble as a castle made of sand.
Why do you design yourself such sorrow?
Ahh, but it is sweet to the tongue, this bitterness you yourself create.

Those words must flow as a motion in deceit; you starve yourself of honesty, and what's there left to eat?

What to show? To show?! Incredulous.

For all you have asked of me, I was not tasked to show myself. I was tasked with truth alone, and truth myself I have not told.

Oh you liar, lie awake, no peace for you in dreams.
Interpret as you will, but do not run, can not scream.

For shame, you aching tyrant, leave this body now in peace!
Nevermore have you my strength; from your clutches I release!

Cast no shadow o'er this ever lusting light!
Take my burden and release me, I task ye now this night!

Body, talk, speak truth and I shall listen.
I speak as you and only know, the lessons you have given.

Fly true my fallen spirit, no delusion shall you hold.
Of nature's light and freest flight, I task you now to go!

Sweetest serendipity, you hold me to your wrath.
Of feral flow and fragrant form, I come across your path!
Such beauty in the temptress, she relates me to my lie.
In truth still so relentless, in her pity rests my pride.
Do not think to know the future, in your arrogance she waits.
Just as envious as beautiful, in her judgement lies your fate.

So I banish you, Depression, I need not your humble shame
I am humbled by my own hand, and need not your hollow blame!

For truth!
